I am about 150 pg into The Last Song by Nicloas Sparks...most of his books are a slow start but come on, I am s till waiting for it to pick up. I won't give up because they are always good in the end.

I read that one not long ago. I had it figured out pretty early. Didn't like it as much as some of his others.

I just finished the Percy Jackson books... those were fabulous!

I'm reading Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul and practically bawling at each story. Rolling Eyes Embarassed I'm such a sap.

Puh-leeze, I cry at everything--you are not a sap, just a sensitive soul!!

Wink

Started a book called Saints in Limbo--it's pretty weird, but it's playing out fairly well.

Had been reading the Weight of Glory by CS Lewis, but set it down somewhere, and it's apparently been buried under a strata of something--probably scrapbook paper!!

Eeeek, I love Nicholas Sparks, but only having experience thru the movies, it seems like sad endings. I would LOVE to read Dear John, but obviously being in the place I am that could be bad. I just read Time Traveler's Wife. It could be observed as all over the place, but I found it a fab read! Smile

Captivating? Is that by the Eldredge's? I started reading it after getting it from PaperBackSwap. I couldn't get through it because it was SO highlighted & notated. I would really like to re read it, though.

I am readying "Cut, Crop, Die" by Joanna Campbel Slan. She's written a couple of murder mysteries involving a scrapper and a LSS. Smile I won it in a contest. It's not bad so far. Smile

I definitely have found the perfect site - surrounded by all these readers! Very Happy I just finished a couple Debbie Macomber stories (I needed some light reading amidst all the stress of the move). I just started an historical romance (can't remember the author) but I'm also reading a book called unChristian for our Bible study.

Can someone recommend a decent series? I need something light reading,
as Dawn says, something to just carry around in my bag to pull out while
waiting for someone to finish violin, or band practice, or (you get the idea).

Nothing graphic; I'm relatively tame.

Was that a series, Dawn?

Robin- a scrapbooking mystery!? I'll totally have to check that out.

I'm noe reading the first book in the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Really liking it so far.
It's about a Wizard Detective. : )

Just got Malice in London from Amazon. Mystery set in London, hello...I think I'm in love.

I'd recommend anything by Debbie Macomber...she writes romances but they're not at all graphic. The Cedar Cove series I've really enjoyed.

If you don't mind kids'/young adult books... Check out the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan or the Max series by James Patterson. Smile Both are EXCELLENT.

Speaking of kids' books, I think the Mysterious Benedict Society series is great too!

Actually, I don't mind at all--my daughter was all about the Enola Homes series for a while, so she had me read those. They weren't great, but they were good enough I read them all! And I regularly check out picture books just for the artwork!

One of my favorite authors is Roald Dahl. And Louisa May Alcott. And Jane Austen.

ANYWAY, thank you Kimmy and Dawn--I will "go" to the library today and see
if I can get some of those put on hold.
