Have you been affected by the recession ? has your lifestyle changed at all?

We were on top of my changing jobs and not getting pd. what I was making before...We sure did make some changes. Don't eat out hardly ever, don't eat lunch out daily anymore...we're at once a wk if even, not spending much on scrappy stuff but we're good....very blessed and Thankful.

Oh yes, we have definately been hit hard by the economy! In the past couple of years, we've lost a business, lost our home & more. DH lost his job, and hasn't been able to find another one. Those that he's qualified for are not hiring, and those that he's over qualified for won't even talk to him. He's now considering going back to school.

Right now, we are staying with friends, and we are grateful every day for food to eat & a roof over our head and that we are all together & healthy.

Not terribly. There are things like painting the whole house and plumbing jobs that I typically would have hired someone for that we have done oursleves this past year.

No, not really.

My job not so much since I teach, work is there (RIGHT?) My husbands job is another story. He has not lost his j ob but the company that he works for has made changes in the last year that have affected how much money he brings home. He is salary but he also gets a commission and they upped the quota on him so we had some rough months. We also had a baby and I took off work for 9 weeks without pay and it took us all year to recover...not really even there yet. Seems like we are always playing catch up. Kind of stinks. I am ashamed to say that it hasn't changed my spending unless I am broke. I really need too and then maybe we would be out of the hole.

Shana....same boat with you and a couple others....always something on my end...always something. i save money and something other than what i had planned takes it away! it stinks
