Exciting Morning

we were on our way to school this am when we slid off the road. We have to go thru an S curve then down a hill then it curves again. Needless to say we didn't make the last curve, took out a mailbox and into some poor mans yard. No one was hurt and the car doesn't look hurt,,,we will see after the snow goes away. We called my dh to come get us out then he slid into the yard, after getting him out and starting to work on my car again, another car slid down the imbankment and into the yard. They just ditched their car and took a ride with someone else. A school bus was just inches from joining us. YIKES, this is a mess. We finally made it back home (1 mile) and called in for the day. My boss wasn't happy but what is a girl to do.

that is scary--I'm glad everyone is okay! The weather is crazy this winter, and you never know about the roads. One time, we were going sooooo slowly, and the roads
didn't even look that bad, but we slid like crazy. No ditch action that time, but
we did make it into one a few weeks back. Now we have a tow rope we carry with us!

You're smart to stay home when it's like that--it's not worth getting hurt.

When it's really bad, we can't even make it up the driveway, and have to walk
up to the house!

our drive is like that also. This am, I could not back out as usual so I had my dh move and we drove around. We have a circle drive and we have thought of changing it because I don't like the look of the yard. Then there are days like this that we need it and I am glad we have it. School has been cancelled tomorrow so I don't have to worry about driving...yeah!

My sister and parents are affected by this storm too. It's definitely for the best to stay inside. It's a wonder they didn't close school today too...it makes me nervous to think of buses driving in that snow and ice.

gash Shana...sorry to hear that. That bites....this weather is driving me flippin' bonkers..it's 50 degrees now, which in texas is freeeeezing. we like the sun. how many times can i say it...sun sun sun come out , come out wherever you are!

wow! That is scary! Yes, so glad your all are okay! I think you made the right decision to call it a day! Man, that is crazy!

I love the snow as long as I don't have to drive in it and it melts in a day or so! They're calling for the white stuff here this afternoon and I'm kinda hoping that we don't get it because ds has to work tonight and I worry about him having to drive in it.
